OfficeJet 4620 won't connect wirelessly

HP Officejet 4620 e-All-in-One Printer series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Officejet printer that I purchased while overseas in Ireland.   I'm now trying to get it set up here in the states.   I've treated it as a "new" printer and tried to add it to my list of printers.   The driver for it is updated.   I run the app HP downloads to set things up and at the point where it says to "temporarily connect a USB cable" so the computer can converse with the printer, it just stalls.    I connected the USB and it never recognizes it and won't let me move forward in the setup.    Tried a second cable.   Same result.   Tried doing a full factory reset.   No joy.    Pretty frustrated with this as it shouldn't be this hard.   I appreciate any help anyone may have.

OfficeJet 4620 won't connect wirelessly

Hi @CDLT ,

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

The Barachiel is at your service.

I understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues?

In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below:

Root Level – printer driver reinstallation:

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Once it is done, follow this link and install full feature driver software. 🙂

Keep me posted,

Thank you for the help. The printer seems to be recognized and is now on Wi-Fi but now I need to have the region changed. I don’t have cartridges from it’s previous region so how do I get this changed?

OfficeJet 4620 won't connect wirelessly

Yes, I've seen that page online.    Problem now is I cannot find a path to "Contact Support".    When I follow prompts to secure support, I'm told my product is out of warranty and would need to pay for help.    Can you provide a number to phone to get this region changed on the printer?

OfficeJet 4620 won't connect wirelessly

Hey, I have windows 7 Home premium.  Recently changed isp, and can't get my HP office jet 4620 to connect back wirelessly.  I followed the steps given above but my printer wont recognize the wireless network.  I can get it to connect and install wired.
