OfficeJet 8600: "print head missing" error message after automatic fw update

OfficeJet 8600

This is really annoying: after an automatic firmware upgrade the printer is no longer working and shows the above mentioned error message. No way to navigate the menu, no operation possible. Tryed already all sorts of reset (unplug the mains cord, wait, etc etc) and print head unloading / cleaning etc.

 

Suspect that this is related to firmware update... always used original cardriges.

Thanks but as mentioned we already tried all documented countermeasures, this one included. I suspect this is related to the firmware upgrade: without touching the printer, it worked a moment before the upgrade and stopped recognizing the print head right after the upgrade. Any other procedure we may follow?

Hi Sandytechy thanks for your effort. Unfortunately we already tried also what's suggested in the private message, several time, the conclusion was always "please change the printer". I'm pretty sure this is not an hardware failure, as it came out exactly after a firmware upgrade. As per other messages found here on the board would it be possible to have instructions on how to do a deep reset of the printer? This might help perhaps.
