Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer is saying it has a paper jam,  we have reset it.  We did updates, we got canned air to see if it was a small piece of paper. nothing is working. want to manually clear the error but don't know how to do that. Printer sat for 9 months without use but was in perfect working order prior to that

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Paper Jam" error. 

 

I'd suggest you try cleaning the paper feed rollers. Please refer to step#3 from this document for step by step instructions.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Download and install the firmware update for Win 10 (64-bit) from this link

I have tried these suggestions, used the print and scan doctor, and searched the forums for alternative suggestions and nothing has worked.

 

There is no paper jam and the error won't go away. I wasn't even printing when the error message popped up - I was scanning to my computer and was not even using the document feeder.

Appreciate you trying the steps. This could be an issue with the sensor. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
