Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP ENVY 5545 PRINTER.  PRINTER BLACK CARTRIDGE NOT MAKING CONTACT MESSAGE KEEPS COMING UP TELLING ME TO REMOVE CARTRIDGE AND REINSTALL CARTRIDGE AND PRESS OK.  DONE IT SEVERAL TIMES WITH SAME MESSAGE.  COLOR CARTRIGE IS OK.

If you insert an old black cartridge or any other black cartridge, do you still see the error message?

 

If yes, then follow these steps: https://support.hp.com/za-en/product/hp-envy-5540-all-in-one-printer-series/5447939/model/7519785/do...

 

If no, then it's an issue with that particular black cartridge. I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team for an exchange or contact the store/online store from where you bough it.
