How does instant ink keep track if printer goes offline?

Hi,

 

Generally the initial setup pages do not count but fax received/sent conformation sheets etc would count.

Hi,

 

The printer firmware keeps count of the total number of pages counted and what cartrdiges are present and when it come back online, it passes this informtion to the instant ink servers.

aslo on this topic, what pages are classed as instant ink?  i.e. do the test prints from the printer count like the colour allignment etc and also the fax received/sent conformation sheets etc
