Office jet 3831

My printer wont print properly. Have cleaned, deep cleaned and cleaned around nozzles with a bud but still printing poorly. Even put in new cartridges. Half the black text missing and patchy. Any suggestions please?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to make a copy?

Align the ink cartridges for the best print quality.

  1. Lift the scanner lid.

  2. Place the alignment page with the print side down on the scanner glass, and then position it according to the engraved guides around the glass.

  3. Close the scanner lid.

  4. Touch OK to scan the page and complete the ink cartridge alignment.

Patchy, uneven printing

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Sadly ive tried all of the document you attached. It wouldnt even recognise the alignment page as it was so patchy and missing ink. Luckily i had an alignment page from a previous print. Even with brand new ink cartridges, it remains the same. Printer is just over a year old and barely been used.

Appreciate you trying the steps. This looks like an issue with the printer's hardware. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Thanks!
