Perisistent false ADF printer jam error message

HP Officejet Pro 8630
macOS 10.15 Catalina

The screen displays the following error message:  "The original is jammed in the automatic document feeder (ADF)." I have followed instructions for clearing a jam, but there is none. I have clicked the OK button repetedly; the message simply pops up again. I have turned the printer on and off and have unplugged it, also to no avail. I cannot see the home menu screen, because the message blocks it. What do I do? Thanks.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Paper Jam Error and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
