HP Envy Photo 7855
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

This printer has not printed colors correctly from the beginning (over a year) I gave up on it.

I really need to get this working properly now.  No amount of editing of a photo can make the photo come out lighter.

I use HP premium photo paper in a semi-gloss finish.

I would also appreciate some help with my Photo Envy 8755    I have had it for 1 year and have never gotten it to print correctly.

Everything is way too dark. Never had this problem with any other HP printer. I use a Mac with High Sierra op system.

I still have the original ink cartridges sent with the printer. In trying to get new Instant Ink sent.. the system says the printer is already registered and won't let me go further.

Hi @PomMomma650

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I see that your photos are printing darker than expected on your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer. I'd be happy to assist you.

Have you tried printing a photo on a regular paper and check if the issue persists?

Which application do you use to print photos?

Also, try making a copy and check if the print quality is darker. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a software issue.

Meanwhile, check the print settings on the MAC

Adjust print quality: Click Media & Quality option from the unnamed menu, and then move the Quality slider to the 'Best' setting. Refer to this document for more info on changing this setting.

Also, make sure the correct paper type is selected.

Check if both the devices are up-to-date

Update the printer firmware

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Thank you for responding to my problem.  The problem has been resolved by replacing the defective black cartridge that came with the printer. It was always my first instinct that it was the cartridge, but coming from the factory, I trusted it. BIG mistake.

Fortunately a replacement cartridge was available and it now works great!!!
