HP Recommended

Used only for B/W printing. Has worked fine 4 years with empty color cartridges. This a.m. even printer status report is blank. Black cartridge was low but not empty. Replaced cartridge with new one (both HP brand), still blank sheets. Trouble shooting tool says I've got to have ink in all cartridges, but it's worked with dead color ones for years. Ideas? Suggestions?

Welcome to HP support community.

 

This printer model will not work with the empty cartridge.

You will have to replace all the cartridges for the printer to work normally.
