I have used chat and telephone call to order more ink on my instant ink plan (Chat a few days ago, Phone this morning - 1/11/18). Still no shipping information which I take to mean "not shipped yet". I am now out of black ink and low on others. I have 4,500 more pages to print in the next week. That will take at least two (2) sets of ink cartridges. Is there any one at HP who can arrange to actually ship cartridges on this "Instant Ink" plan? My phone contact this morning suggested I could purchase locally and would not be charged for the pages printed with the non-instant-ink cartridge. How is that possible? The other cartridges are still "instant ink" and my printer is still recording printed pages. That sounds like I will essentially be double charged. I will feel much better about this deal if I log into the printer app and it shows me that new cartridges have been shipped. But they haven't. Both the Chat and Phone contacts gave me a story about how the "Instant Ink" program is not set up for instant response, just regular printing on a monthly schedule. I have a year-end large print requirement. Is this an "Instant Ink" plan or an "We'll get around to shipping according to our 'typical' projection" plan?

I am glad your issue was resolved.
Pages will count toward Instant Ink if there are *any* Instant Ink cartridges installed. If you wanted to use retail cartridges without adding to the Instant Ink count you would need to replace all the cartridges.
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.
