I replaced my coloured ink tonight, and all my images on photo paper are still printing poorly. They are all coming out overexposed as if I took them in sunlight and I didn't. I then when ahead and cleaned cartiriages, and replaced the black even though it was not completely empty. Same issue. I restored the printer to factory settings and same issue. I am trying to do photo printing and this is very discouraging. Anyone know how to solve this problem? Its as if the printer is not realizing I replaced the ink or something I don't know.

@STLMom, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To provide you with an accurate solution, I would like to know the following-

What is the paper size and type used to print photos?

Which application are you trying to print from?

Do the normal documents print fine? What happens when you make photocopies on the printer?

Meanwhile, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

Also, refer to the document HP Printers - How to Print Photos (Mac) for help.

Keep me posted.
