Hi, I know this printer is really old.  But --

Things were just fine and working normally until I loaded paper.  When it gave the "print page alignment" notice, I stupidly ignored it.  I sent a job to the printer, but nothing happened.  When I checked the front of the printer the power light was blinking and the loading bar was frozen.  I attempted to turn off the power by pressing the power button. When nothing happened, I tried holding the power button down for several seconds.  It did not power off.  I searched on Google, and found some old forum questions about the topic.  I did as the  answer suggested (unplugged the cord from the outlet, unplugged the cord from the printer, waited over 60 seconds, plugged the cord into the wall outlet, plugged the cord into the printer.)  The power light stopped blinking and the loading bar was moving.  Yay! But  I tried sending my document to the printer again, and immediately the power light started blinking and the loading bar froze just as before.  Please help!!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Remove the cartridges from the Printer and perform a reset.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
