HP Envy 7640

Hi, I am a musician and use my printer to print sheet music frequently. I have noticed scans done with with certain software print on other printers fine, but do not print on my HP Envy. The quality is unusable when I print a PDF of sheet music or text. On other HP printers at different locations (an old HP Photosmart Plus B209) the same documents print perfectly. Why does my HP Envy not work? I thought it was something to do with color ink cartridges being empty, but even when I choose gray scale, there is a major quality issue that makes the prints unusable. I have updated drivers and attempted to update firmware (but it was not needed). This has happened with multiple documents. I have tried to change print quality and DPI and paper sources, but none of it helps with the print quality of PDFS on this printer.

Can you scan a sample and post here so we can see? There could be several reasons why you are having trouble.
