Printed says he prints but doesnt, then finishes

HP Officejet 6850
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with this one.

When I tried to print from my PC this mornign it didnt work, the PC is connected via USB. The Printer gets the informaton, says its printing and then does nothing for a bit. Then it makes the sound of a finished printing without having printed anything. it also doesnt even try to pull in paper or anything.

After that we tried another device and the Wifi-function, both also didnt work.

Test sites work, also all the HP Scan and Doctor tests were without any problems. It can also print pictures via USB, but no PDFs.

Does anyone know the problem and a solution?

Best regards

Townsie

Hi @Townsie

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

What is the correct model of the HP Printer?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

For now, let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Let me know how this goes.
