Printer Issues

HP Officejet Pro 6978mple: Pavilion 65XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Came back from 6 months in Florida.  Cannot get my printer to work after all this time.  I have been trying for two weeks with no results so far.  I reinstalled the printer and went through various help steps but no luck.  I got a message that my printer was installed but I get messages that my Drivers were unavailable and also keep getting a message that my printer is offline even though I am showing that my internet is connected.  I wanted a phone number for a tech support person but I only get the runaround with a virtual assistant.  Last time I had issues I had remote assistance that led to a need for a new printer.  Any suggestions out there?  I tried the various online help scenarios but still have my problem

Printer Issues

@bobschriefer

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer full feature driver

I hope that helps.
