Printer System Check

HP Office Jet 6600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I do not print much.  But every time we try to print, the printer goes into a system check.  This tends to last 5-10 minutes and then our job will print.  However, it seems to be using up ink as we are always changing the ink.  Any thoughts?

Does this happen on the printer screen or the computer?

What happens when you try to copy or scan?

Did you make any changes to the printer or the computer recently?
