Had a cheap attack one day & tried to install refurbed HP ink cartiridge - first time ever.  Printer displayed error message "Defective cartidge." After several tries, I gave up and bought new HP cartridges.  Tried to install those & got the same message.  A friend who is a master copier repair tech looked at it & said it appeared to her that the refurb cartiridges might have blown the board on the print head - it won't recognize any cartiridge now.  She said the print head should be replaced.  Question 1:  is this correct diagnosis? Question 2: where do I get replacement print head?

Hi,

Download and follow the HP Print and Scan doctor utility

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

 

After selecting your device and when you see the Fix Printing or Fix Scanning buttons, click the top Printer Menu and select Supply Levels.

 

What value can you see under Ink Region for the 4 cartridges?

What value can you see under Ink Number for the 4 cartridges? can you see 951/951XL Z10 or any other value?
