I have 2 printers connected to my computer. At the beginning of summer, they both worked fine. In August I bought a new computer and now I am having issues. I have followed all the troubleshooting steps, drivers, realignment, cleaning, new cartridge etc.
Word - neither printer will print from Word in black. Only partial page (c6180) or missing lines (c5180). If I switch to blue, they both will print the full page.
Google - both print fine
PDF - both print
Internet - both print
When I clean the print heads, not all characters print (c5180), but fine on the C6180.
Extended self test prints good on both.
I have contacted Microsoft, and they could not solve it.
Why can I not print from Word? (Home and Student 2019)

Thanks for all the help.
Solution was to install a newer driver. The older printer driver was not compatible with Office 2019. So far printing again.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to print from Word.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
Press the "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type %temp% and press ok.
Note what the full path is (in my case, it was "C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp")
Go up one level in the directory tree
Right-click on the temp directory (in my case, "C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local"), and select "Properties"
Go to the Security tab, and select "Users" from the group or user names
Click "Edit"
Select Users, then check the box by "Full Control"
Click "Apply"
You may get a whole bunch of error messages about inheritance, just hold down the Enter key until they all go away.
Click "Cancel" a couple of times to dismiss the properties boxes
Go forth and print from any application and check.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and check if it helps.
Here is how it is done.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the PC
14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

Thanks, did all that, had to restart printer spooling also, otherwise it would not delete driver.
C6280 in Word now prints 3/4 of the page in black. Full page in color. Copied document to google docs and full doc printed.
still not resolved

We need to perform a semi-full reset to fix this issue. However, as the steps to perform a semi-full reset are confidential and specific to your printer. I will be sending you a private message please watch your inbox for more information.

Thank you. This only slightly solved my problem. It still won't print anything in black straight from Word or Google Docs, but it works if I do it through the driver (I think that's what it is). From the driver, however, in "Normal" quality it comes out gray looking and in "Draft" mode it doesn't come out.
