Printer is not printing in color, only black and white

I’ve been trying to print a colored document and every time I printed it it came out black and white. I check my cartridges and they seem good, I use original HP cartridges. I use HP Smart to print.

@Daniela14, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a standalone color copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Update the iOS software

Go to Settings > general > Update the software

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

1.) Launch the HP Smart app. 

2.) Touch the "Print Documents" tile and open your document. 

3.) Touch "Print".

4.) Touch on the grey line above the printer's name.

 

Select and change the "color option" as required.

Try printing.

If the issue persists, use AirPrint to print as mentioned in step 2 of this document.

I just tried everything you said, but it still not working. When i made the copy it printed in color, but when I used the app it doesn’t let me print in color, it doesn’t even show the color range option, I also tried printing through AirPrint, but i doesn’t show me the color range option either.

Did you try reinstalling the HP Smart app?

If you are able to make copies in color, it means the printer is working fine.

Do you have a computer from which you can try printing in color and check if it works?

Also, were there any updates available for your iOS device?
