Solved!

Printer is not printing though normal printinformation

HP Recommended
HP OfficeJet 4630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After replacing black-ink cartridge (with original HP) the printer is no more printing well. Testpages appear with minimal parts of the normal print. It seems that documents (.pdf and .docx etc...) are only printed the color parts. So it might be caused by the new (original) cartridge although all printerinfo (as ink-levels etc..., network info, printer-web-pageinfo etc....) is normal. The diagnostic info from the HPPS-doctor is: everything normal. What can be wrong here? What can I do to further search to the cause of this problem? (I could install a new cartridge, but I have no at my disposal).

Hi

Thank you for contacting HP.

Looks like you have an issue with the Black Ink.

Take out the black ink properly while the printer is on and place it on a paper that can be discarded later.

Now use lint free cloth and water to clean the golden copper contacts on the Ink.

Dip the cloth in water and squeeze out extra water then clean the copper contacts.

Do not clean the Ink Area,

Then place the cartridge back after about 30 seconds.

Let the printer come to idle state.

On the printer home screen touch Set UP > select Tools > Select Clean Printhead.

A page will print, check the print quality of the page and see if black is good.

If black is not good, then on the printer screen there will be a prompt to proceed to level 2 cleaning.

Perform the level 2 cleaning if the first print quality is not that good.

Check printing after 2nd cleaning.

Thanks for your kind trying to help me with your advice.

I did as you told me to do, but unfortunately it did not work. The same refusing of printing black.

Now I buy a new black cartridge and try it. I will report the result when I am so far.

Yes, please let me know what is the result with the other cartridge and also provide information on which cartridge no you are using and if you have purchased the cartridges from the same store or different store.

I purchased the new cartridge: HP 301 black CH561E at a local shop here in the neighbourhood of my hometown.

After having mounted it in my printer a testpage was immediately printed correctly in black and colour. An other printorder for a .pdf-document resulted in a nice black and colour print. Thus this excercise works.

The old (defective!) cartridge (301XL black) I bought elsewhere namely at the internetshop of HP Netherlands on the 20ieth of july 2019. I still have the invoice nr. 2088673. The cartridge was one of a 2-pack from which the other one worked without difficulties.

What do you suggest me to do with it?

Again thanks for your help.
