HP Officejet 4620

Hi,

Ive got an Officejet 4620 printer. Had it 3 years now. Was starting to miss words when printing in black ink as this was running out. Id bought a 4 pack of cartridges 6 months ago and just replaced the colour ones. I used this cartridge to replace the used black. I had run the printer heads cleaning program a number of times before changing the black cartridge and after I put the new cartridge in. I ended up with having no black at all. Thinking that I may have left the new cartridge too long I went and bought a new one and replaced the cartridge. Unfortunately this did not work either.I came onto this site and looked up the problem. I tried the suggestion of taking the black cartridge out and pressing it onto a hanky... plenty of ink came out. I then replaced and ran the clean program... still no black.

I then cleaned the terminals on both the cartridge and the printer and let dry... this also did not work... I have colour but no black.

Has anyone any other suggestions I can try to get this printer going again. Over the 3 years it has only had intermittent use?

Thanks Kumar

unfortunately nothing I have done seems to work. Onto the second new black cartridge and still no black ink being printed at all.

guess I will take it to printer place and see if they can find the problem.
as I said all other colours work well... it would be a pity if I have to replace printer... I’ve been very happy with it

cheers

@West02

As you have used a second new black ink cartridge and the issue persists, the issue lies in the printer. Please contact HP Support team as mentioned in my previous post for service options.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
