Printer problem

Office jet 6700
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and older

Error alert says:  there is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn the printer off, then on.  If problem persists, contact HP.”  

what’s going on?

Printer problem

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Ink System Failure".

 

Let's try these steps to reset the printer - 

 

1) Take out the cartridges. 
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall. 
3) Wait for 30 seconds.  
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector. 
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Update the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Also, try step#2 from here

 

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty.
