Printer problems

HP Officejet Pro 8630

I keep getting a Printer Failure message.  It states "There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn printer off the on. If problem persists, contact HP".  I've tried this and I've tried to reset the printer from the instructions on the website but nothing is working.  Can someone assist?  Thank you

Printer problems

@DDB70 Greetings from the HP Community!

Here's what you need to do, to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Verify the ink cartridge numbers

Make sure the ink cartridge numbers match your printer and country/region.

Go to HP Store, and then verify the ink cartridge numbers for your printer model and country/region. Replace any incompatible ink cartridges.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  5. Turn the printer on.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

Thank you for your reply.  I had already tried the previous Steps you recommended and they did not work.  The printer was working fine and we had not changed or replaced the ink cartridges prior to this issues taling place.  I took each of the cartridges out and pushed them back in to make sure they were in properly but it did not resolve the problem.   Not sure what I should do now.  Can you assist?  Thank you

Printer problems

@DDB70 If none of the steps suggested so far have helped, this could be a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
