I have this same issue for HP laserjet M608.  I've tried hard resets but it didn't help.

 

Anyone has a solution?

I have spent countless hours on this problem and still it is not resolved. 

 

Is there a solution to this problem?

I just tried this and also tried updating the firmware. The USB cable does not recognize the printer. The printer is stuck on initialization. Is there something else that can be done. I have a HP426fdw.
