I've installed new HP ink cartridges and it shows the ink level is fine but when I print a document, there are many streaks or faded parts in the black ink. Color always appears fine. I've cleaned the cartridges and aligned them multiple times. Sometimes the test pages come out fine but any document does not.

I've followed all the steps in the knowledge base and I'm on my 3rd brand new ink cartridge, even though others had plenty of ink.

My warranty has expired but the printer is only 2 years old.

Sounds like the same problem I am having with my new printer, except the test pages I print direct from it there’s nearly no black - colour works fine.  When I print a test page from a device it is only doing the outline of text and not filling in shapes with black ink.

@Cgilson & @Daz78, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
