We bought the HP OfficeJet Pro 6975 a little over a year ago (warranty just expired) and had to start working from home because of the CoVid-19 situation.  I tried printing some documents and noticed the ink was really starting to fade after a few pages.  So I ordered new ink HP genuine ink cartridges.  I just installed the new ones and the printer is still printing faded pages until the pages are pretty much blank towards the 3rd page.  I printed off the Print Quality Page and I can see colors but no black.  The black ink was fading on the previous cartridge as well.  Does that mean something is wrong with my printer?

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Since the device is out of warranty, and we've concluded that this is a hardware malfunction, I may have a few pointers/suggestions to help you out, however, since these suggestions are limited to you and your printer alone, I'd like to send out a private message with those details.
