hp officejet pro 8600

Helpppppppp! My boss gave me an officejet pro 8600 printer.  Everytime I turn it on, a paper jam error message pops up and I CANNOT get rid of it.  I have watched countless videos and checked every nook and cranny in this printer and I cannot find a single tiny piece of paper anywhere.  Can I not access the control panel when a paper jam message pops up?!

Hi @emily3frank

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Are you able to bypass this error message and access the home screen of the printer? If yes, we can try to perform a factory reset on the printer.

Refer to the steps mentioned in this document to resolve a paper jam error.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

How would I bypass the paper jam message? I've tried everything in the document you provided but it's still saying there is a paper jam.

@emily3frank

Try tapping the Home icon or the back button to access the home screen of the printer. If you are unable to bypass the error, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
