Printhead Error Message 0xc19a0037

HP Recommended
Office Jet Pro 8740
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

We are receiving error message "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected and incorrectly installed.  )xcc19a0037" - sometimes printing is OK and sometimes it is interrupted.  Any ideas on what the problem might be?

@JMM333 Greetings from the HP Community!

I have a few steps to help identify and/or resolve the issue:

Step 1: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to try and recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
