I have always been able, using HP printers, to print specific pages of a document  (i.e. 1,3-4,6,9) using 2-sided print and without printing each page individually.  I just purchased an Officejet Pro 9018 to replace a dead Officejet Pro 6830.  The 6830 would print the range described above, and the 9018 will not.  The error message I get says it is not a proper range.  Apparently, it will only print odd or even pages or a closed range (i.e., 1-3, 6-8, etc.).  By the way, my wife's cheapo Epson printer, also new, will print the way I need to.  What can I do to make the HP 9018 print the way I need it to?

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to print specific pages.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

  • From which application/software you are printing?
  • Have you tried printing from different applications?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall and check if it helps.

 

Here is how it is done.

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

Thanks for the reply and information. After a little more investigating, it seems the problem only occurs when printing from within Mozilla Firefox.  There's no problem when using MS Office, Adobe Acrobat or printing from within the Microsoft Edge browser.  It doesn't look like I need to reinstall the software, but I'll let Mozilla know about the problem.  Thanks again.
