Photo Tray Problem: The photo tray is blocked. Please adjust the tray and try again.
I am not printing photos. I am just trying to print regular paper, but I keep getting this error message. I am making adjustments, but it keeps failing. How do you unblock the photo tray?

I understand you are not able to print due to the error message. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.
Kindly perform step 1 from this document.
Open the paper tray, load the papers carefully, and close it. You will get a prompt on the printer to select the paper type. Select the appropriate paper you have loaded in the input tray and try printing.
