Hi @daskaz

Welcome to the HP Support Community.  To assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  1. Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
  2. Which application are you trying to print from?
  3. Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Print a print quality report

  1. Touch Settings, and then touch Tools.

  2. Touch Print Quality Report.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi Kumar0307,

Thanks for you reply. I have followed your suggestions, but the problem persists. I have tried to print all kinds of documents such as pdf, page and number documents, but it still does not work. Also the quality report is not complete as only parts of it are printed.

@daskaz, thank you for the information. This seems like a hardware issue. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Check ink levels

Low ink levels can impact print quality. You can check ink levels in the printer control panel. From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon .

Clean the ink cartridges

  1. On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon .

  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Printhead. The printer cleans the printhead, and then prints a test page.

  3. If the print quality is not good, touch Clean Again. The printer cleans the ink cartridges again, and then prints another test page.

Also, perform step 12 mentioned in this document.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

  1. On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon , and then touch Tools.

    The Tools Menu displays.

  2. Touch Print Quality Report.

  3. Check the Print Quality Diagnostic report for defects.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello Kumar0307

I have tried all the solutions you advised, but the problem still exists. In addition, the printer does not scan anymore.

Thanks for you help sofar.

@daskaz, Scanning is a software issue. Which application do you use to scan?

HP Easy Scan is not yet compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina. We're actively working to restore complete functionality. I suggest using HP Smart app or Apple Image capture to scan from your MAC. Kindly refer to this document to know how.

Refer to this document for more info on HP Easy Scan.

As you have tried the steps and the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
