Problem with printer or ink system

Officejet 6700 Premium Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an error that comes up "there is a problem with the printer or ink system, turn printer off then on...." This has been ongoing for a few days now. 

I have changed my ink cartridges, all are genuine HP cartridges. None appear to be leaking. I have done a hard reset on the printer, power cable removed etc. I do not have a printerhead latch/lever that I can readjust that I can see. 

I have removed the printerhead and checed all contacts and cleaned what I can access. 

I have read that the printerhead should move freely when the power is off. Mine does not appear to? I am unsure what relevance this has.

Any assistance appreciated.

If you have tried all the steps mentioned in this HP document:- Click here

And if the issue still persists, this could be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link -
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
