Problems changing ink cartridges - followed all advice on HP

ENVY 5640

Am trying to change the ink cartridges for the first time.  Have followed all the advice on  troubleshooting several times but the message still comes up - remove and re install cartridges.  They are HP cartridges.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,

This printer works in single cartridge mode ,so try one cartridge at a time and in this way you will be able to isolate the faulty cartridge

Insert only the color cartridge first and try to make a copy and then vice versa.

Thank you, working on the single colour cartridge works brilliantly.  However, I've tried re inserting the black singly and with the colour and still have the same problem.  Do you have any other ideas please?

On the black ink cartridge ,you will notice the copper contacts
Please clean them once with the lint free cloth and then re-insert it back into the printer .

In case the issue remains the same ,it means it is a defective cartridge then reach out to the HP support and they would replace the cartridge for you using link :

It will provide you the support options either via chat or call.
