Am trying to change the ink cartridges for the first time. Have followed all the advice on troubleshooting several times but the message still comes up - remove and re install cartridges. They are HP cartridges. Any advice would be much appreciated.

We would recommend to call hp support to resolve the issue

This printer works in single cartridge mode ,so try one cartridge at a time and in this way you will be able to isolate the faulty cartridge
Insert only the color cartridge first and try to make a copy and then vice versa.

Please clean them once with the lint free cloth and then re-insert it back into the printer .
In case the issue remains the same ,it means it is a defective cartridge then reach out to the HP support and they would replace the cartridge for you using link :
It will provide you the support options either via chat or call.
