Just bought this printer. VERY disappointed that when FULLY EXTENDED the paper tray for the prints is not long enough to hold sheets of A4 paper flat! This is a ridiculous design flaw... it should be there to catch and hold your prints FLAT not curled up. This will cause issues in longer prints. NOTE the arm is fully extended and is way short of A4 size - I have checked underneath & it is not jammed, it is fully extended....... I need this resolving POOR DESIGN

 User Guide

Supported large sized paper is loaded according to the instructions on Page 16

See Step #2

Next:

Tell the Printer Control Panel and the Printing Preferences about the paper size.

Check / Adjust / Retain the Paper at the Printer Panel

Open Printer Tray,

If you have not yet done so, add desired paper type

Close Tray

IF applicable for your printer:

On the printer control panel, Click Modify (wording varies), set the paper size and type, Click OK

NOTE:  If the size of the Paper Size is not in the Drop-down list, Select Custom

Set the Preferences - Windows

  1. The following assumes the Full Feature Software has been installed.
  2. Check / enable the printer as the “Default Printer”
  3. Select and adjust settings in each category for the Media (kind of paper), source (tray), and paper size.

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your printer > Set as Default

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences >

Tab Printing Shortcuts > Click / Highlight preferred shortcut > Click Apply > Click OK to exit

If the printer software supports the feature, change the settings as desired, then use “Save as” to create a Custom Shortcut.

OR

Windows key + S (search for) Printers and Scanners

Left-Click on (your) Printer > Manage >

Printing Preferences

Select a shortcut and / or set “preferred settings” for paper, source (tray), other settings

Optional (if / as available): Save As > enter a name for your custom shortcut

Click OK to save the preferences

OK.

You should perhaps open a new thread of your own, provide the necessary information, explain your issue, and ask for help from the Community.

I don't see any reason to start a new thread.  This issue has apparently been around for a couple of years and an adequate response can not be given.

Understood.

From what I was able to find, the answer is explained in the User Guide.

 User Guide

Supported large sized paper is loaded according to the instructions on Page 16

See Step #2

Pages 16 and 17 show how to lower the tray-stop and load Legal sized paper (8.5 x 14 inches)

The Specifications indicate that Plain Paper in size A4 is supported (8.3 X 11 inches)

I do understand that in spite of the documentation, you are saying this is not the case.

I don't have another answer for you.  Sad face here.

If you decide to ask the question of the Community, someone who has actually used this printer might be able to add something useful.
