Is it possible to flush the ink tubes?

Started with 3 fresh 940 YMC carts yesterday & now after repeated alignments & clean print heads the carts are empty and basically can only print BLACK copy. I've cleaned & soaked the printheads - software indicates that the printheads are GOOD in all 4 colors. I've cleaned the translucent registration strip. If the printheads do not clean, where has all the ink gone? Or is that a pseudo condition based on a number of factors such as printhead cleanings and alignment failures or are the cartridges truly "empty"?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Unfortunately you can't flush the ink tubes.

Print the Print Quality Diagnostics Page:

Use the following steps to print a quality diagnostics page using the printer control panel.

  1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. Press the Setup button.

  3. Select Print Report.

  4. Select Print Quality Page.

  5. Press OK.

Let me know if you see color on this. Do you have any other set of ink cartridges to check with?

Follow these steps to align the printhead.

  1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. Press the Setup button.

  3. Select Tools.

  4. Select Align Printer.

  5. Press OK. Press OK again when the alignment is done to continue.

Let me know if this helps.
