Re: my printer (HP deskjet 3050) is only printing partial lines, bottom half missing

@Carth1

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.

I understand that while copying the printer is only printing bottom half, need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Is printing from the computer working fine?

Have you done any hardware changes in the printer?

How long are you facing this issue?

However, I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Then, update the firmware for the printer using the below link:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-3050-all-in-one-printer-series-j610/4066450/document...

If you are facing the same issue while printing, follow the troubleshooting steps in the link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-3050-all-in-one-printer-series-j610/4066450/document... for the print quality issue.

Re: my printer (HP deskjet 3050) is only printing partial lines, bottom half missing

Re: hp deskjet 3050 all in one printer

When in "Print" mode, deskjet 3050 is  printing partial, faint letters, some letters are blurry and have lines running thru.  When in "Copy" mode, letters are clear and complete.  The problem started when trying to print a page from internet.  Device Manager shows "printer is working correctly."  Unplugging printer and computer didn't help.

Re: my printer (HP deskjet 3050) is only printing partial lines, bottom half missing

@MH08

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Have you tried the same thing from a different web browser? If not, do try that.

Meanwhile, if you're on a Windows Operating System, let's try this:

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Let me know if this helps.
