Receive fax to computer settings

When setting up the fax to receive to computer does it have to be on the USB connection or Wifi. I received a fax according to the fax log and have checked the designated folder and it is not there.

Use HP Digital Fax to automatically save incoming faxes to your computer, a folder on the network, or forward them to an email account. This feature helps save paper and ink as an alternative to printing faxes, and can provide access to faxes when away from the printer. A traditional phone line (landline) connection is required to use HP Digital Fax.

Hello and thanks for trying to help. I have done this setup. I learned that fax to email is not available on this model Deskjet 8020. Are you sure my model can fax to computer. I bought this printer for that purpose. Am disappointed if I cant get this setup.

Yes, Fax to email is not supported by this printer.

Fax to PC is available with Windows as per the product specifications. Click here to check the same under Fax.

I have set up on the computer thru digital fax set up. On the printer panel it does state that print to computer is setup. Now I get error message when I try to fax from the computer that it cannot communicate with the printer.

• Did you check the connection between the devices?
• Are you able to print/scan from the PC?
• Did you run a fax test as mentioned in the document attached and check if that works?
