Lately my printer started rejecting Recycled and Compatible Cartridges.

How can this be fixed so my printer accepts recycled and compatible cartridges agani?

Thank you!

PS: I can understand the need to use HP originals during the first 2 years of warranty, after that I believe its the users´ right to use compatible cartriges or even recycled ones.

@moliveirarq, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge? Does the issue persist?

Here's the thing, yes, you can refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems.

However, you can try the troubleshooting steps from this document ( steps 2 to 6)

Also, just to let you know:

QualityLogic, one of the world's foremost quality assurance organizations, tested the performance of HP inkjet print cartridges vs. remanufactured (refilled) brands. The results: original HP inkjet print cartridges far surpassed ink refills in both print quality and reliability.
Nearly one out of every six refilled ink cartridges tested was dead on arrival or failed prematurely
70% of refilled cartridges had some form of reliability problem
Count on HP original ink cartridges for consistent, worry-free printing. You may think you're saving money on remanufactured or refilled ink cartridges, but in the long run, the cost of wasted time, ink, and paper can more than make up the difference.

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers 🙂

Thank you for your help! I was able to solve the issue taking the printer to my local cartridges seller.

I have found his recycled and compatible cartridges to be very accurate and reliable until my last firmware update, when the printer started refusing the cartridges.

I still buy originals whenever I need superior quality, especiallly in color.

I do believe this could work for everyone, and HP could create its ECO brand for cheaper recycled and compatible, lesser quality cartridges for everyday printing, while keeping its PREMIUM brand for superior quality.

Have a good week!

Hello.

Me too, for environmental reasons, prefer to buy remanufactured cartridges after the warranty has expired but, unfortunately, they are not recognised by my printer (HP OFFICEJET 4657) and all the old links are expired because of the latest updatings.

Could you please help?

Thank you.

Hi, my current solution is whenever the printer rejects a recycled cartridge I take the printer to the cartridges seller and he manages to find another cartridge or a way to make them work.

Good luck
