HP Recommended

I have had a HP printer for a number of years now.

I don't use it a great deal but have been very happy with it.

However, a message on my printer tells is telling me that an ink cartridge - that's still half full - cannot be used anymore as it is "past expiration date".

I inserted another cartridge but the message then came up saying "cartridge appears to be missing or damaged".

Well, I knew it wasn't missing as I put it in myself so it must have been damaged but, it was fresh out of the packet.

I have had to go out and buy a new cartridge, which is a real nuisance - as I already have one that's not empty and another that's not yet been used, but my biggest bug-bear is that this means that these two cartridge's will now have to be thrown away.

What has happened to being able to get refills?

Where are HP sitting in regards to saving the planet with wasting good cartridges and wasting unused ink?

I look forward to hearing back from someone very soon.

Regards

Jennifer
