There is no mention as regards to the function for the SD card slot!

You can print photos from memory card without using a computer, you can scan to a memory card without using a computer.

 

User manual page 29 for printing and page 46 for scanning.

Thanks for your help , I was not aware of the user manual , which obviously helped , as I was not going to just throw in a card and see what happens . It is odd that the manual was not made easily accessable upon printer setup , of which I am now aware that my smart device can scan to the unit . Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
