Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Since the (automatic) firmware upgrade in April to version 1910A, I am not able to use my non-HP cartridges.  I have read the HP response, but that is not an acceptable.  I have worked in educational technology for almost 30 years and have always purchased HP printers for my personal and school districts' use.  My printer is a little over a year old and now won't work unless I purchase HP ink?  Customers were not forewarned of this and were not allowed to make the decision themselves as to the acceptance of these terms.  If there is no solution to this, other than purchasing HP brand ink, then I will be forced to change to another brand for my printers.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "Reinstall Cartridges" issue. 

 

You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems.HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges

 

You're printer is not being affected by the dynamic security- you check the table to see the effected printer list 

 

Also, try the steps in the document -Error indicates faulty cartridge

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
