Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, after a few years in China we relocated back to Germany. When replacing the ink cartridges with German ones HP301XL it doesn't recognize them. A few years back the support mentioned that somehow the region flag needs to be changed. How can I do this? The printer was working nicely and cannot be dumped just because of this!

@kukaba, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.  

  

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.  

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Dear HP Community, although someone from HP was so nice to help me solve the problem (reset the regionalization) it failed with an error message. The recommendation is to contact HP Support. However as the guaranty time lapsed, there is no human support (only the virtual agent with default recommendations not coming close to resolve this issue) nor any chance to extend the guaranty time.

Does HP really force me to dump a working printer just because of this?

Does this fit to any sustainability commitment?

I understand your concern and I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.

They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.

 

Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
