I have purchased 2 new color ink cartridges #65XL , the 1st one would not work at all. the 2nd worked a couple times removing and replacing it. Now I get nothing,, they are HP inks ,,new but looked like old cottages....didn't have any problems it seams when using regular black and color....   Could it B my HP ENVY 5052 does not like the XL's ??

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the cartridge error.

 

Let's try these steps to reset the printer - 

 

1) Take out the cartridges. 
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall. 
3) Wait for 30 seconds.  
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector. 
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

If the issue still persists, try step#3 from this document.
