I WAS RESTORING MY PRINTER TO FACTORY DEFAULTS WHEN MY CO WORKER ACCIDENTALLY PULLED OUT THE POWER CORD TO THE OUTLET NOW EVERYTIME I SET UP THE FAX IT GIVES ME THIS ERROR: You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the printer.

@MCHHSI, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Restoring the printer to its factory settings may resolve this issue. 

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Let us try accessing the EWS page and check if that helps:

  • Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
  • Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  • If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.

  • Now go to the Security Tab - Administrative Settings.
  • Enable all but Uncheck 'Control Panel Lock".
