Today I purchased the HP Officejet 9012 All-In-One but cannot complete the set-up because my printer did not come with setup cartridges. When I contacted the store they did not have another printer so instead I purchased the 962 cartridges thinking this would help but I still cannot complete the setup.
Can Setup Cartridges be purchased? Is there a way to complete the installation without the setup cartridges using the cartridges I purchased?

@sherai78, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Setup ink cartridges are not available in local stores. We will have to perform a reset on the printer to bypass the use of setup ink cartridges.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I had purchased this printer around 2 years back.
But didn't use it. Started using it today and got a msg to insert setup cartridge. I don't have them any more....I bought new hp cartridges... But that doesn't seem to work.
My kids have started school from home and this is really required now.....
Please help

Thanks for the Prompt Response.
Here is what all I did, when nothing was working.
Steps :
1. Powered on the printer(from the main power supply) while pressing the Power ON button on the printer.
2. Pressed TL, BL, TL, TL and reached the BLUE Screen OOBE menu
3. Performed OOBE Reset.
4. Restarted the printer
5. The printer boots to the screen -> which gives me 2 options a. Retail Demo & b. Setup
6. I click on SETUP and I get the following message: " Please use the SETUP Cartridge to proceed"
Now if I try TL, BL, TL, TL it does not work.
7. I follow step 1,2 and go back to the OOBE Menu
8. Select NO PRINT MECH option and restart the printer.
9. Printer Boots up , and I'm able to access the Service Menu by pressing BL,TL,BL,BR,BL
10. I reach the service menu.
11. I change the setting for Trade OOBE to enable.
12. Restart the printer
13. The message on the screen suggests: " The following cartridges appear to be missing " and it shows Yellow, Cyan, Magenta and Black colour icons.
Is there anything else that I can do, or is this printer now useless.

Try the steps in the document -Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge
If the issue persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer

I bought an HP Envy 5055 but following a mix up at home I threw out the setup cartridges before setting up the printer. I bought ink cartridges thinking that would be all I needed. Please advise me how to bypass this issue. Thanks, Rob
