macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I am trying to scan a page and every time I do it comes out just a whole page of black ink. I have tried restarting the laptop.

Please use HP Utility to clean the ink cartridges from your Mac and let me know if the Diagnostic Report prints out fine

  1. Load plain paper into the input tray.

  2. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.

  3. Depending on your version of OS X, click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

  4. In the Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners window, select your printer, and then click Options & Supplies.

  5. Click Utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.

    HP Utility opens.

  6. Click Clean Printheads , and then click Clean.

  7. Examine the Print Quality Diagnostic page.

    • If the print quality is acceptable, click Finish. You can stop troubleshooting.

    • If the print quality is unacceptable, click Cleaning Level 2 to continue the next level of cleaning.

      NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.
