SCANNING WITH A CHROMEBOOK

Hi,

I have a similar question: I have a chromebook and I'm trying to connect my computer to my printer so that I can scan. However,  my printer is the HP OfficeJet 3830. I was able to follow the instructions up until clicking on Administrator Settings. As soon as I click on that, I get this error message: NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

and it says my connection is not private. Any ideas on a workaround?

Thank you!

Scanning with Chromebook

@VHolt

Welcome to HP Community

Are your Chromebook and Printer connected to your secured Home Network or to a Public Network?

Please Note you cannot connect the HP printer to Public Networks.

You can try scanning using Web Scan if the Printer and Chromebook are on the same secured Home / Office Network. Please follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05881028

Keep me posted how it goes 😊
