I was selling a brand new printer on eBay. HP would take it back but the website for returns kept giving me errors. I used an image of the printer as it was the right size.
HP complained to eBay and after I sold the printer and it wasn’t listed on eBay, they somehow removed the auction even though it was not listed. They claimed that HP notified them of the image and insisted that it be removed. Again, the auction was over and the printer wasn’t listed
I’m seeing many, many listings for HP products that have your images on the site. I’m curious why I’m singled out and if it has to do with my bad experience with HP and the printer I had to sell. Your rep said that I could return it but your website said ineligible. After waiting nearly a week for HP to respond, I sold it on eBay at a loss.
Had eBay asked me to remove the image from the auction I’d have taken a picture of the printer instead. So was my frustration and anger issues with HP the reason I was contacted?
I rarely use eBay for selling or buying so I don’t think I would use any images again unless I had them taken for me. I’m just curious why others are allowed to use your images. If an HP employee is looking for your images on eBay, they need to do a better job!
