Solved!

Shadow printing!

HP F4480
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Deskjet F4480 printed full report page does not show any identified defects. However, all documents printed with shadow texts.

How to solve this issue?

I went through all recommended 4 steps , including SW  re-installation with no results. 

The shadow printing returns every time following changing the ink cartridges. Its frustrating!

If there is no other recommendations please provide me with the phone number of the technical support.

Welcome to HP Support Community

 

Please uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 
2.) Select your HP Printer 
3.) Select Uninstall 
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab 
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 
10.) Select Ok 
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

 

Try printing and let me know how it goes 😊

Hi @crazytoad'

The required SW  installation step has the following note :Due to the size of this download, HP recommends dial-up (56k) customers order this software on CD due to the long download time. Online ordering is not applicable in all countries.

 

What does that mean? How can I get the CD?

The Full Feature Software is about 137 MB. Do you have high speed internet?

 

If you do have high speed internet, please click this Link: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL27506/al-111489-2/DJ_AIO_05_F4400_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_14... to start the download and follow the onscreen instructions.

 

Note: Before downloading the Full Feature Software please uninstall the printer driver from root level as instructed earlier

Hi Toad,

Thank you for your prompt reply. However I cannot follow your advise. Im not sure if my internet speed is fast enough for the installation of the software throught the internet.

Please advice how  can I get this Software on CD.

At this point I would request you to contact HP Support to order the Software CD

 

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

I performed the entire procedure in its entirety.  Still shadow printing.  Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

 

.pdf files seem to be the afflicted types.
