Printer asked to update software (via home screen) but since I pressed OK it has been hanging for the last 12 hours, showing a white screen with a half blue circle (which has not changed). The blue wifi light is on the printer and I have triple-checked my wifi which is fine and has good speed.
I cannot access the printer from the HP utility (which says the printer is currently unavailable) and don't want to turn it off if the software has not been updated.
Has anyone seen this before and does anyone have any idea what to do.
Thanks in advance.

@mccafferyc, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The update should not take this long. Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
If the issue persists, turn off the printer for couple of hours and then power it ON.
Let me know how this goes.
